My 10 Living Heros...

  1. Marcus Luttrell- Former US Navy SEAL, He was caught in a deadly firefight in the Hindu Kush mountain range in Afghanistan in June 2005, was only one of his 4-Man SEAL team to survive the battle, was awarded the Navy Cross for his actions that day. He is an inspiration to me because he is someone who never gave up when everything seemed hopeless.
  2. Richard Sherman- Cornerback for the Seattle Seahawks, one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, won a Super Bowl Ring with the Seahawks in 2014. He inspires me to be all that I can be and try my hardest at everything.
  3. Dave Mustaine- Heavy metal guitarist, he was Metallica’s original lead guitarist until he was kicked out of the band, then went on to found Megadeth, another successful thrash metal band. He inspires me to not give up when you fail.
  4. Russell Wilson- Quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, won the Super Bowl in his second year playing for the team. He inspires me to be all that I can be and not to let people tell me no
  5. Marshawn Lynch- NFL Running Back, played for Buffalo Bills, then the Seahawks, has set numerous NFL records and also won a Super Bowl ring with them. He also did not like media attention. He inspires me to do my best and not to become cocky. 
  6. Mike Durant- US Army Helicopter Pilot, shot down during the Battle of Mogadishu in October 1993, prisoner for 11 days. He also inspires me never to lose hope and give up.
  7. Ben Carson- World-Renowned Neurosurgeon and 2016 Presidential Candidate, born to a poor family in Detroit and rose to become director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He inspires me to never let anybody tell me I can’t do something in my life.
  8. Pope Francis- Current Pope of the Roman Catholic Church, well known for his support of human rights and the poor, and supports mercy, which is part of the 10 articles of mental training.
  9. Peyton Manning- NFL Quarterback, Played 18 Seasons for the Indianapolis Colts and the Denver Broncos, was cut by the Colts after spinal surgery, then signed with the Broncos and won Super Bowl 50. He inspires me not to give up when you fail, and to always try and come back stronger.
  10. Chuck Norris- Martial Artist and Actor. Is an eighth degree grand master in Tae Kwon Do. He inspires me to try and be a better martial artist.
