Through Tae Kwon Do, I hope it will help me with my technique and through that, it will improve my speed and agility. I also aim to learn more leadership and help teach other students what I learn from those who taught me.

I will be a black belt that is fun to have as a teacher or student while still having a serious face during serious times. I will be a respectful blackbelt to my peers and teachers.

My mother is one of my living heroes. She was the one that first found a place to go to Tae Kwon Do. Although at times she may seem strict, she is still kind and loving and her strictness is for my own good.

My father is also one of my number one living heroes because I can't rate either of my parents. My dad teaches me math that I don't get or he teaches me whatever science I am curious about. While teaching me, he still takes care and is kind to me.

What Is Taekwondo

625470657_gjZL8-L_medium.jpegI found this article interesting.   Here is a quotation from the article:

"When you do Taekwondo, you should make your mind peaceful and synchronize your mind with your movements, and extend this harmony to your life and society. This is how in Taekwondo the principle of physical movements, the principle of mind training, and the principle of life become one and the same."

So the rest of the article, which is posted on theWTF site can be found at this link:

3820645211?profile=originalI remember starting out in Martial Arts, and how tentative I was.  Being in class with all the other people – I kept thinking, How do I make those moves? My arms and legs don’t move that way!

You think to yourself I’m not sure I can do that, but I’ll give it a try!

Everyone in class is so intimidating, they are confident and strong.  Then slowly you find that your kicks are more comfortable, the forms flow easier.  You start to think I CAN do this!  Then you get your yellow belt.  You start being

Bully Information and Resources

Just in case you weren't aware -- we do bully prevention training.

We have done hundreds of hours of free training at schools, and for groups, and with our own students, as well as 1:1 work with kids and youth who are being bullied, or have been bullies themselves.   Most of all though we spend time teaching kids, the majority of whom, will be and are bystanders as the bully cycle plays out in front of them.  We teach them how to stand up, take action, and as we teach the kids "don't just sta

I was 9 years old when I was given my first martial arts lesson, in 1969. This photo shows one of my sons, Keenan Cornelius, at age 5, learning Jiu-Jitsu in one of my classes in the 1990’s. For my son, as it was for me, being on the mat, around teachers

How I Feel about Teaching: Cheers to 2014

3820637617?profile=original"I do not know that I could make entirely clear to an outsider the pleasure I have in teaching. I had rather earn my living by teaching than in any other way. In my mind, teaching is not merely a life work, a profession, an occupation, a struggle: it is a passion. I love to teach as a painter loves to paint, as a musician loves to play, as a singer loves to sing, as a strong man rejoices to run a race. Teaching is an art—an art so great and so difficult to master that a man or woman can spend a

Fire Safety -- We All Need a Plan

3820644820?profile=originalA couple weeks ago, a colleague and fellow school owner we know, had a house fire.  Thankfully, his family was safe, even the dog, but the house burnt to the ground.  I was reminded by this as well as other fires recently our commitment to training folks regarding escaping and fire safety.

It is easy to forget the importance of prevention, and put off making a fire plan for family, or work.  If you, or a group of kids, or adults for that matter would like to come and learn the fire safety gam

Community Project Packing Food --- Pearl

42-beans_YellowWax.jpgAs I walked in to the food packing building i saw the most amazing things. Big machines with waxed beans pouring out of them, people from the community packing all around. A few people were tying up the bags, some people were runners carrying bags of food to tying stations. I've never seen so many people in one room all working together. Well, it's for a good cause. we were all packing up food for the needy. Every one was playing their part. i chose to be a runner, all I did was bring bags of be
